Funny Things Kids Say

Danielle:

So I was coughing - quite a long time - as I drank something down the wrong pipe. Danielle comes over and pats my back "Cough it out Mommy, cough it out". I say this to her every time she coughs so it was quite cute. Then she looks at me intently - "Did you get water in your lungs?" You can tell her Daddy is in medical school - she and her sister are our junior doctors. I smiled mid cough and said yes. She then looked at my chest, and asked, "Are your lungs behind your boobies?" It's a good thing I wasn't drinking then - it would have put me . . well back into another coughing fit. :) Kids say the darndest things sometimes :)

Brandon:

lifted up the blinds and looks at the dense trees lining our back yard. He then says " Mommy look - forest!" I questioningly ask "Did you just say forest?" And he answers in his 'you totally understood what I said and that makes me so happy tone', "Yeah!" Thank you Dora and Diego for teaching my son the word 'forest'! I love how smart he is!

Katelyn:

We had the opportunity to possibly live near Aaron and Lauren (my brother and sister-in-law) and were asking the girls about it. We asked them if they wanted to move to another house. Both adamantly said "No - we like our house". Then I asked if they wanted to live next to Olivia (their cousin - daughter of the above) and they both said yes. Katelyn then answered in all seriousness "I don't like this house". The power of cousin bonds!

Improving Day by Day

So things continue to improve here in Pennsylvania. I still miss family and AZ friends but I am getting in better routines and the kids are doing well. Douger is doing well in school - although still frazzled and stressed because it is so intense, but he is handling it better most days.

We got the girls bunk beds when we moved here and Brandon a race car toddler bed. They all LOVE their new beds. Brandon loves the freedom - to be just like his sisters is the best. :)

I have figured out I kind of stink at this blogging thing lol. I haven't gotten one comment and I don't post all that often. Hopefully someone somewhere is enjoying it lol.

So we have been in Pennsylvania now for 3 weeks. Douger has completed his first week of medical school. And I have survived my first week without him. I count the first week as an accomplishment for us both. I am used to my husband being busy, but living away from family and friends while he is so busy is another matter entirely. I know as I find friends this will pass, but I am very lonely out here. I don't have my normal routines or fallbacks to count on. If I were to get lonely in Arizona I would go visit my parents, or my in laws, or sisters or friends. I don't have that here. I have to figure out my own way and I haven't done that before. Even when I lived in Tucson I worked full time other than my maternity leave, so this is new to me. I am sure it will get better, but in the mean time - it's hard and I am adjusting.

The Beginning

So my sister-in-law has been encouraging me to start a blog for quite awhile now. I didn't really know what to say let alone what to title it. Moving to Pennsylavania has given me something to title the blog and something to write about - my inspiration if you will. So we'll see how this goes - hence the title! We've been here for 12 days now. We arrived o
